This product was developed for construction companies and professionals, quarries and technical demolition operations working in scenarios where control is non-negotiable.
When to use it:
While others merely crack, our cement generates the radial pressure needed to fragment high-strength rock and concrete. It is the right power for applications where performance cannot fail.
Consumption estimate by area, volume, drilling grid, hole diameter and height of the element to fracture.
Representative grid of 1 m².
Technical note: indicative calculation. Actual consumption may vary depending on hole cleanliness, humidity, grout losses, block geometry, degree of confinement, mixing water temperature, application time and site conditions.
Drill, mix with water and fill the holes. First cracks appear in about 12 hours, and the time varies with the ambient temperature.
Expansive mortar is a non-detonating product used to break rock and fragment concrete in a controlled manner. When explosives are not viable — due to proximity to structures, legal restrictions or safety requirements — it replaces the explosion with a slow expansion inside the hole, without impact, without vibration and without dust, provided that drilling and application are correctly carried out.
We work in rock breaking, technical concrete cutting, controlled demolition, foundation excavation, quarries and urban construction sites where the use of explosives or heavy machinery is not possible or recommended.
We sell three types, differentiated by the ambient temperature at the time of application: Type I for 25°C to 40°C, Type II for 10°C to 25°C and Type III for -5°C to 10°C. The choice of the correct type is determined by the average temperature expected at the site during the reaction period.
For borderline situations, or when temperature fluctuates during the action period, there are additives and application adjustments that can compensate: colder or warmer water in the mix as appropriate, retarding additives in hot climates, accelerating additives in cold climates and thermal insulation of the hole. Before proceeding, contact our technical support to confirm the correct combination for your project.
Expansive mortar does its work in approximately 12 hours under typical application conditions, and may vary between 6 and 24 hours depending on ambient temperature, drilling diameter and the geometry of the piece to be fractured.
The specific reference consumption is 1 kg per 80 cm of drilling, with 32 mm diameter holes. For different diameters and spacings, we provide a customised calculation upon receipt of the drilling plan.
Yes. We deliver by courier within 24 hours across the entire mainland.
Yes. We do not limit ourselves to selling the product. We provide guidance on choosing the correct type, the drilling plan, consumption calculations and on-site application monitoring whenever needed.
Yes. The Technical Data Sheet is available on request. After purchase, we also provide the Safety Data Sheet (SDS). Please also consult our dedicated prevention and safety page for recommended procedures before, during and after application.
They are different names for the same product: a non-detonating grout that expands inside the hole and fractures rock or concrete in tension. It is also called a soundless chemical demolition agent. On this site we use expanding grout, the term most searched in the UK. Not to be confused with expanding grout admixtures used for anchoring, which are a different product.
They belong to the same family, non-explosive demolition agents. The principle is the same: the product expands inside the hole and fractures the material in tension. They differ in expansive force, in the formulas by temperature range and in the technical support included. Ours comes in three formulations by temperature, with support on the drilling pattern.
The price depends on the pack. We sell 5 kg bags, 10 kg boxes and 20 kg boxes, with a lower price per kilo on larger packs. You can check current prices and buy expanding grout online in our shop.
